Delegation from O6U visits Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU) between 14/1/2012 to 20/1/2012
In the framework of cooperation agreement signed between O6U and CMRU in 2007, a high ranking delegation from O6U took part in the inauguration ceremony of O6U/CMRU Centre for Middle East Studies which is designed to enable students and scholarly community to generate a body of knowledge about the Middle East. The Centre seeks to promote teaching, learning, research and public awareness of the vast and diverse array of Middle Eastern cultures, trade, business, and languages.
During the visit the two sides endorsed the proposed plan to guarantee the continuity and development of the Centre. The plan includes:
Promoting the centre among CMRU students, other universities students, pupils and children in Thailand and beyond through diverse channels of publicity such as websites/brochures/books CMRU channels.
Continuing to provide consultation services for the future development of the Centre.
Developing the Centre to be one for the Middle East and African Studies and will expand the number of participant countries.
Promoting Arabic Teaching Courses for non-Arabic Speakers in Thailand and the neighboring countries. The scholarship and academic supports will be initially provided to the participating students, particularly the 10 CMRU Students in the pilot program.
