 The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences participated in the comprehensive development caravan for the Nahya region in Giza on November 28, 2023, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Dina Azzat, the dean of the faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Amal Sabry, the vice dean for community service affairs. The event included the involvement of the Laboratory and Biotechnology program, as well as Nutrition, under the supervision of Dr. Maiven.


During the caravan, tests for Hepatitis B and C were conducted for 60 cases, with 4 cases testing positive for Hepatitis C. Additionally, complete blood count and urine tests were performed for 20 cases, making a total of 80 tests conducted.

Furthermore, a nutritional awareness session was conducted to educate the community about diseases caused by obesity and the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. Practical demonstrations were provided on preparing cost-effective, protein-rich meals as alternatives to meat and fish.
