 Participation in attendance at a symposium on human rights and mental health

The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector organized a symposium entitled “Human Rights and Mental Health” under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Gamal Sami, President of the University and Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Magdy Rady, University Advisor. For external relations, the deans and deans of the various colleges at the university, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
The symposium was hosted by Her Excellency Ambassador Minister Dr. Mushira Khattab, President of the National Council for Human Rights, and Her Excellency Ambassador Minister Nabila Makram, former Minister of Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support, which discussed aspects of cooperation between the university and the Fahim Foundation. For psychological support in the field of internal and external community service at the university, it addressed several points, including: introducing the Fahim Foundation for Psychological Support, the objectives, tasks and activities of the institution, and proposing a cooperation agreement between the university and the institution. Her Excellency the Ambassador also spoke about the vital role of the institution in training psychologists and family members who have Individuals with mental illness and how to deal with them, how to adapt to their behaviors, how to take care of themselves so that they can endure and continue the path.
 Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Mushira Khattab also conducted a dialogue with the university students about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and followed up on what was previously done by the students when signing the cooperation agreement between October 6 University and the National Council for Human Rights on 3/2/2023.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Hisham Tamraz honored the guests with the university shield in appreciation of the services they provided in the field of public and volunteer work and human rights. The symposium was attended by Prof. Dr. Amr Nadim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and a group of students from the Medical Sustainability Team.
