Information Technology Institute is pleased to announce the first Big Data, Cloud, and Mobile Hackathon in Egypt in partnership with IBM and with a big shout out “Let’s build a smarter Egypt”, happening on November 26th – 29th , at the ITI Premises – Smart Village.
We would like to extend an invitation to your esteemed professional Staff and Students to attend our 4-day thrilling event with the aim of capitalizing on Egypt’s wealth of Big Data in generating solutions for critical challenges on Egypt’s national agenda and strategic plans, while opening up potential opportunities for new businesses and endeavors.
The event begins with a knowledge day (Nov. 26th) hosting keynote speeches from IBM and ITI pioneering community, and the national institutions owners of Big Data volumes, followed by interactive technical seminars on the latest technologies and tools in Big Data, Analytics, Cloud and Mobile. The knowledge day gathers esteemed Academia and Professionals from the technology domains in focus.
Furthermore; Smarter Egypt follows with a three-day competitive Hackathon for team-based projects to prototype solutions and services, solving challenges and providing commercially-viable opportunities in the Hackathon’s Domains using the highlighted tools and technologies. Domains such as challenges and opportunities in health services, irrigation, agriculture, and energy.
Winning projects are to receive exciting cash, professional internships, and travel awards in the presence of technical gurus and subject matter experts who act as the jury that evaluates the projects.
Students can participate in the 3-Day Hackathon by registering through http://ibm.co/1p8mjxZ (a case sensitive link) and attending the first knowledge day to collect their Team IDs and to explore the different technology tools to be used in the following 3 days of the Hackathon.
Smarter Egypt hackathon comes as a joint initiative between ITI and IBM, aspiring to develop local professional expertise and knowledge in key technology domains among youth and ICT professionals, as well as widen the base of technology innovators throughout selective challenges intended to apply Cloud Computing, Mobile Applications, Big Data & Analytics technologies addressing pressing problems on Egypt’s national agenda and strategic development plans.
