October 6 University wins the second place in the national qualifications in Landmine Detection Competition

 Pet Robot team, from the Department of Mechatronics, faculty of Engineering, at October 6 University, won the second place in the national qualifications in Landmine Detection Competition, held in The American University, at New Cairo. The Pet Robot team has qualified to take part in the international competition, representing Egypt, at Macaw city, China, on the sidelines of the activities of the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS) 2019.

It’s worth noting that October 6 University won the first place in the international competition of Landmine and Explosives Detection “Minesweepers 2018”, which was held within the activities of (IROS), in Spain, with the presence of Philip the Sixth, King of Spain, and many prominent persons and the biggest companies in the field of manufacturing robotics, with the presence of more than 3000 invited persons.
The (IROS) is considered the biggest robotics conference in the world, in which the Pet Robot team competed with more than 12 countries, including Spain -the host of the competition-, Switzerland, Bolivia, India and Malaysia.
