Management Program

Welcome word from Dr.  yasser sheta ,(Supervisor of Business Administration Department), Faculty of Economics and Management:

At the beginning of the study I am pleased to welcome the students of the department of Management, I also ask my students to ensure regular study and to make the most of the courses they study and from the experience of the professors who study them and achieve positive results and all the members of the faculty work in the department, provided that the graduate at the level of competition with the graduates of other universities in the labor market.

Mission:

The Business Administration program seeks to prepare distinguished graduates equipped with knowledge and the level of competence and skill necessary for the labor market and to provide community service related to various management activities, efficient and capable of innovation and competition at the local, regional and global levels

General specifications for graduates of the Business Administration program:

 The program aims for graduates to be able to:

 1. Using scientific management skills in administrative development and problem solving

 2. Utilizing the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of specialization to develop organizations positively.

 3. Effective communication and negotiation skills with others.

 4. Interaction with administrative developments and changes

 5. Employing graduates professional knowledge and skills in solving administrative problems

 6. Commitment and responsibility to support and stabilize the organization.

 7. Using modern systems and technology in administrative control and follow-up.

 8. Analyzing phenomena and problems by using a sound scientific and administrative approach based on various scientific and administrative experiences.

 9.  Understanding administrative problems and working to solve them efficiently and effectively.

Program Goals

1. Rehabilitation of students and graduates to share effectively distinguish and innovate practicality.

 2.Contribute to providing administrative solutions, particularly with a direct impact on the definition of students and graduates on the mechanisms and needs of the labor market and accepts administrative and flexibility to the labor market, which contribute to the development of administrative systems.

 3. Provide administrative and strategic consulting for decision-makers and decision makers in private governmental organizations.

 4. Participation and contribution to community and civil responsibility for effective participation in building sophisticated administrative thought.

First level

 Business Administration I

The general framework of administration (the concept and importance) - business organizations development — management environment and such environmental factors affecting management — planning - organization - direction - control — project’s objectives - modern orientations in management.

 Second level

Business Administration II

 Behavioral Sciences:

-         Managers and humanitarian behavior in organization

-         Approaches to the study of humanitarian behavior

 Financial Management & Finance:

The course includes an approach to financial administration, financial statements, financial analysis, definition and importance of finance, working capital management, working capital theory, cost of capital concept, investment policies and subjects related to investment, finance, distributions of profits, financial analysis and financial control.

 Third Level

 Readings in Management in a foreign language:

Principles of management are studied in the English language to train students in reading and writing comprehensive topics in the English language.

 Production management:

An approach to production and operations management and its relation to other departments in the firm-development of the administrative thought development of production management and its effect on the development of industrial and service production systems- production systems design (products design - energy planning - location selection - industrial methods selection- internal order of a plant- work measurement and design) - production systems planning (planning- production scheduling - project planning)- production systems management and operation (materials management - production facility — maintenance - production quality control and management) modern orientations in operations management.

Marketing

-         Marketing concept.

-         Marketing benefits and marketing modern concept.

-         Marketing concept development stages.

-         Factors of marketing mix.

-         Products planning & importance thereof.

-         Addition of new products (formation and variety).

-         Removal of existing products from products mix.

-         Changes in the variety of current products.

-         Comprehensive quality concept and its effect on the marketing mix.

Computer applications in Management

This course includes importance and benefits of computer applications at administrative sciences- analysis steps through database usage - design of applied database - setup of initial samples using Microsoft Excel.

Specialized Institutions Management

Nature and characteristics of specialized firm-specialized firms management and organization methods -performance assessment methods of specialized firms – Case studies of firms operating in hotels, hospitals, sports clubs, universities and commercial banks (how to manage funds and policies)-Islamic banks management and the difference between Islamic and traditional banks-management and organization of companies and investment (organizational structure and management)-organization and management of insurance companies (activities - jobs - marketing activity and thought - policies)- hotels management and properties thereof - tourist problems and effects thereof - small-sized enterprises management (obstacles - problems - feasibility studies)- hospitals management (organization - problems).

Purchases and Stock Management

Concept and importance of materials management - materials management organization - the relationship between materials and other jobs- procurement methods - purchase orders (quantity - quality - resources - time - price)- centralization and decentralization of procurement and storage- stock management - stock control - statistical methods used in stock control - stock classification methods - dead stock management.

Management of Quality Assurance

-    Concept of production planning and control and its functional importance Administrative structure of such department in charge of production quality control and planning

Fourth Level

Management of International Business

The course includes the concept of international business administration, challenges of the current century, international business environment of multinational companies, security, insurance, international finance and international tourism.

Managerial Policies

This course includes analysis of administrative decisions taken by an organization’s departments that are either productive or administrative or financial or marketing. This also includes comprehending most problems and obstacles that may arise during enforcement of such decisions with a view to reaching the strategic effective management.

Hotels & Hospitals management

By the end of the course, students will be familiarized with the historical development of hospitals as well as their importance in the social and economic development in addition to the dire need to effective specialized administrations. They, also, will be acquainted with a hospital’s basic functions, hospitals planning and organization, administrative and medical department’s management and support.

Graduation Project - Management

This course aims at the practical application of basic knowledge that a student has learned during study of different courses at business administration. A student chooses, under the supervision of a teaching staff member, a certain topic to be his graduation project during which they identify the research problem and the proposed treatment method within a time schedule and methodology determined through mutual agreement with such teaching staff member supervising the project. A student’s final report is to be presented before other class mates and present teaching staff members.

International marketing

Defining international marketing and fields-international marketing environment- international marketing researches- marketing mix-marketing activity planning and control -multinational companies -export & import organizations and procedures-practical applications.

Marketing Research

Operations Research in project management

·       Planning and evaluation of projects using the "method of business networks
