Dr. Justin Kolb, Assistant Professor of English Literature in the American University in Cairo, has delivered a talk entitled “Shakespeare and the Other” on Tuesday December 10th, 2013. The talk centered on a different reading of Shakespearian texts as documents of cross cultural communication. Dr. Kolb tackled “Othello,” a play by William Shakespeare and focused on the doubleness that is caught between two worlds, the idea of a hybrid other. The session lasted for an hour and was followed by a question and answer session that reflected positive interaction with the speaker who entertained questions for professors and students alike.
